On July 23, 2012, the Blue Jackets and New York Rangers collaborated on the first of two blockbuster deals in a span of approximately eight months. The build-up of the "Rick Nash trade" peaked with Nash being sent to the Big Apple in exchange for four pieces - Brandon Dubinsky, Artem Anisimov, Tim Erixon and a 2013 first-round pick (19th overall, Kerby Rychel) - that would become pivotal in the building of a new identity and attitude in Columbus. Dubinsky has quickly developed into the Jackets' emotional leader both on and off the ice, Anisimov signed a three-year extension in the summer, Erixon has been one of the AHL's top defensemen and spent time in Columbus last season, and Rychel has been dubbed as the "premier power forward in the OHL." Yes, there will be plenty of focus on Rick Nash facing the Blue Jackets for the first time, but the three guys returning to MSG will be plenty fired up for this one.
