EDITOR'S NOTE: You've arrived at the CBJ Power Rankings, our weekly breakdown of the top-five players, statistics, trends and many other Blue Jackets-related categories. If you're looking for the traditional power rankings, you've come to the wrong place. We'll go in-depth and outside the box, and hopefully give you something to think about.

For this week's rankings, we're talking 5-on-5 hockey. Even strength, one of the true indicators of how good a team is and how consistently good it can be. Advanced metrics have augmented and enhanced the way we look at 5-on-5 hockey in terms of puck possession and shot differentials (Corsi and Fenwick), but in this week's rankings, we're going to keep it fairly simple. Which teams in the Eastern Conference have the best 5-on-5 goals for/against ratio? Let's get right to it.

TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING
5-ON-5 F/A: 1.32
CURRENTLY: T-1ST, ATLANTIC DIV.

Perhaps if not for the remarkable run put together by the Anaheim Ducks, Lightning head coach Jon Cooper might be a slam-dunk for the Jack Adams Trophy. What the Lightning have accomplished in the absence of Steven Stamkos is impressive if not only for collective resolve, but for the level of consistency they've displayed. There's no panic in their game, their goaltender gives them a chance to win every night and just like the Bruins, Tampa boasts a balanced lineup that supplements strong 5-on-5 play with above average special teams.
